Signed posters of 'Baalstorm, Sing Omega', 'HoneySuckle Æons' and other artwork
I have had a lot of enquiries about whether it is possible to purchase fine art posters of some of my paintings and album covers. I have decided to make a selection of images available in different sizes. These will be printed to order, and are not therefore part of numbered editions. All prints can be signed to the purchaser or another name, if so desired. As they are being printed to order, they will only be available directly from Coptic Cat and not through our online shop. The next update will give a list of the images which will be available.
London C93 show only London show this year
I have been asked by people if the London show by C93 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall/South Bank for Ray Davies' Meltdown will be our only UK show this year. It is almost definite that it will be; no other shows have been booked for this year apart from Paris (1 June), Hasselt (3 & 4 June), London (19 June) and Katowice (Poland) on 4 August. My main focus now is finishing off my lyric book Sing Omega for its Summer/Autumn publication and consequently no further shows are presently planned until the volume is out.
Coptic Cat in association with Henry Boxer gallery to publish new Nick Blinko book
(Photo of Nick and David outside the Bangalore Restaurant, London, 23 April by Henry Boxer)
I and Coptic Cat are OverMoon to announce we will be publishing, in association with my friend Henry Boxer and his Gallery, a book of completely extraordinary drawings by Nick. A series of approximately 90 black and white images, these are some of Nick's most intense and obsessively beautiful drawings yet. The book is presently untitled. We hope it will be ready in June/July 2011.
The Henry Boxer Gallery will be exhibiting artwork from the forthcoming Nick Blinko book at the 2012 Outsider Art Fair in New York where a number of the original drawings will be offered for sale at that time. For more details about Nick Blinko's artwork see www.outsiderart.co.uk/blinko.htm. For more details about Henry Boxer's gallery go to www.outsiderart.co.uk.

New Comus live CD on Gnostic Dirt
As I mentioned a few weeks ago, myself and Steve Pittis of Dirter have started a new label to release work by our mutual obsessions. We are honoured and ecstatic that our first release, East of Sweden, an extraordinary new live album by the unsurpassed Comus is now available from both Comus: www.comusmusic.co.uk · www.myspace.com/comusofficial and from Dirter's new online shop which is also now run by our friends at State51/Greedbag.
Poly Styrene goes to God
I was very, very sad to hear of the passing of the amazing and legendary Poly Styrene. I first heard her work in the late '70s with her extraordinary band X-Ray Spex. I was always a huge fan, and would meet her fairly often in Hastings, where she, like I, lived. I was always awestruck and shy meeting her, and though I wanted to know her better, it, alas, was not to happen. I texted her a few weeks ago asking to meet up but she replied that she was ill. I never saw her again.
My friend, and one of the Hallucinatory C93 family, Youth, produced an album, Generation Indigo, for her before she slipped to Æon. I will miss her, even though I knew her so slightly. Rest in Christ, Poly. You are an extraordinary and magical individual. Rest and Rise in beauty.
There are two very touching pieces about her here:

Does anyone reading this have competence in Akkadian?
I have become increasingly interested in learning Old Babylonian/Akkadian and cuneiform. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any online learning courses, and I don't have time to attend a full time course at a university at the moment. Does anyone receiving this update read Akkadian? I am looking for advice and assistance in learning it; I have obtained a lot of the recommended books but it is always lovely to have someone to correspond with. The problem with excellent books such as Caplice's Introduction is that there is no key to check one's answers, and Huehnergard's Key to his extraordinary Grammar doesn't have the cuneiform. Worthington's new volume is very clear but again, alas, doesn't cover cuneiform.
