David’s art show and its opening night at White Columns
I was and am and will be always utterly OverMoon with my first art exhibition, Magog at the Maypole (Sex of Stars) in NYC at the wonderful White Columns. The opening night had a tremendous turnout, and it was a delight to see so many old friends and meet many new friends. I want to mention especially that it was lovely to see Antony Hegarty, William Breeze, Jim Thirlwell, Little Annie, Baby Dee, Mary Norris, Drew McDowall, Maya Hardinge, Debbie Fowler and Johan, Maron and Sophia of the Kugelberg family, who I thought would be unable to attend, Maude Swift and Rebecca Gordon and to meet also my old friend Joseph Budenholzer (who had been unable to attend the opening), Roberta Smith, Jerry Saltz and Jessica Gordon. Most of all, I want to thank my beloved Jessica Chappell for being there with me, and being here for me, then, now, always. Love is God.
I also want to thank all at White Columns for their exceptional kindness and enthusiasm. What an honour and pleasure it was to work with you all. Thank you, Matthew Higgs, Carolyn Lockhart, Jeff Eaton and Amie Scally. THANK YOU!
Thanks to everyone who came, and apologies to all those many people whose names I have forgotten.
My exhibition there closes on 14 April.
